PSA if you see your dog stuck on a wire fence like that check on them immediately! This happened to my dog and she got a chunk of skin scraped off by the fence. We have a wood fence now.

Not even remotely stuck - just loves his awkward sleeping positions. Plus he gets to shed hair on all the black clothing - and how can you expect him to do that from down on the floor?

My neighbor's Shiba hangs out at my house all the time. He just wanders up here and scratches the door then howls, demanding to be let in like he lives here. Goofiest thing he does is runs without using his knees. His front legs are dead straight when he runs and he looks really weird/uncoordinated. He won't get in a car with strangers and has to circle the car 3 or 4 times before he'll get in.

Dude a few streets over has a Shiba; his will be out walking and just decide he's had enough at which point he'll either plant his feet and not move, sit down or (my favorite) lay down. When this happens his owner has no choice but to carry him home coz he refuses to move or walk.

Yeah, they're a strange breed. Serious weirdos but so adorable and very funny.

Sadly, huskies are among the most likely dogs to end up at a shelter... though nearly always one of the first to get adopted from a shelter, too. I suspect they're also the most likely to return to a shelter more than once!

I have a 5 year old Sibe named Loki who is simultaneously the best and worst dog I have ever owned. He's stubborn, willful, and OMG the hair. There's husky hair everywhere, all the time. I'll be finding balls of it in corners years after he has shuffled off his mortal coil. He is a terrible guard dog and you literally can't leave anything around that you don't want to have eaten.

Having said all that he's also one of the most loving, giving and tender dogs I have ever owned. While he does like to bite when playing or when he wants to lead you somewhere else in the house, he has never broken the skin of me or anyone else. He loves company, and those days when he decides he's going to behave on walks to the extent that I can walk him without a leash (they are rare, I'll grant you that) are some of the best walks I have with him. They are getting more frequent as he gets older... maybe he's finally figured out the squirrels are too quick for him.
